Huge shout out to Miguel, Carolina, Steven and the staff for being so gracious and kind to help us out during daughter's Covid!! The artful decor and plant filled patios and decks made this a charming stay. Convenient location allowed for easily walkable trips to the Quito marketplace, which was superb. We stayed for another 8 days until she tested negative and in addition received a Document of Recovery from a doctor. They helped us with cabs, arranging for take out dinners, and our room rate included a nourishing breakfast. The staff helped us with arranging for on-site local testing and other necessary arrangements. We were all, including staff, extremely careful with regard to sanitary protocols, distancing and masking. He immediately arranged for a separate room with kitchenette for our daughter while my husband and I stayed in a separate room. We don't know what we would do have done had it not been for the compassion of owner Miguel, who refused to abandon us in our hour of need. Instead, we discovered on New Year's Day that our daughter had tested positive for Covid. Quito |4.01km from downtown This charming hotel was supposed to be a one night stay for us after two weeks in the Galapagos- a final big night, New Year's Eve in Quito. But I would be more careful about my room selection and straighten out issues in the beginning of my stay. it was that beautiful and great location. Hoped my high end hotel would help me avoid that. getting the cabs to use the meter is frustrating. Instead, the valet quoted a higher than normal price and said they would not use the meter. Assuming that having them hail it would avoid tariff questions. Lastly and most disappointing was when I asked for assistance getting a cab. Assuming from the gym? Not a bother to me as I sleep with earplugs but heads up if you are sensitive. Where I was on the 4th floor, you cold hear base from music above. seems all the buttons are for show nothing changed no matter what I pushed including off. But later when I was cold, I was unable to adjust. I was in a back tower, not sure if it was older than the front? The room was sparse (but bathroom lovely) which is fine. I had light dinner in the pub and found that staff also super friendly and helpful. And probably this hotel, but I'd ask a few more questions. I'd definitely stay in this neighborhood again. The lobby gorgeous, the surrounding area (and the hotel itself) full of restaurants and a beautiful park. Not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you're considering staying there.Quito |1.47km from downtown This hotel is beautiful. Oh, and because we didn't have a car we ate at the only restaurant within walking distance, called Wings, and my daughter got food poisoning. The first time I didn't have proof of my reservation so I ended up paying a little more the second time they honored the price Expedia had quoted me when I showed the confirmation email but they gave me a room with a different number of beds than the one I had reserved. ![]() ![]() Both times I made reservations in advance on Expedia and neither time did the front desk have any record of my reservation when I got there. I stayed here twice during a 2-week stay in Quito but probably wouldn't choose it again. No good coffee for breakfast, just instant, but there was free bottled water so that was nice. The towels were kind of thin and ratty, there were light fixtures without bulbs and desks whose surfaces weren't flat so stuff kept rolling off - but it was clean enough. Nothing nice or pleasing about it but nothing super bad either. If you need a cheap place to sleep near the airport, this hotel is okay.
